Redstone Animal Hospital

This multi-phase project reflects years of careful planning and partnership with the owners of a thriving veterinary and boarding operation in Colorado. Originally offering small animal veterinary services, boarding, and daycare all in one building, the owners wanted to expand capacity and functionality while creating clearer separation between services. Their vision included a new, high-capacity boarding facility, a future clinic devoted exclusively to dogs, and the conversion of their existing clinic into a cat-only practice.

In the first phase, we designed a barn-style boarding facility with over 100 indoor/outdoor kennel runs, ten luxury suites with private play yards, and designated small animal boarding spaces. Taking into account Colorado’s winter weather, we included large covered outdoor play yards and fully roofed runs to allow for year-round use. The boarding building is also connected to an existing structure—originally intended to house a doggy pool—that has now been redesigned to accommodate one, along with preserving the large outdoor turf play yard.

Once boarding operations transition to the new facility, the current boarding building will be demolished to make room for the second major phase: a standalone dog clinic. This new building will house ten exam rooms—including a private-access comfort room for aggressive or grieving cases—a dedicated two-table dental suite, isolation room, staff break area, large dog ward with 11 indoor runs, and a spacious open treatment area. Additional fenced walking and isolation yards are also part of the plan. Once complete, the original building will be repurposed as a dedicated feline clinic, completing a cohesive, modern veterinary campus designed to serve pets—and their people—better than ever.
