Hueytown Veterinary Clinic

When the new owners of Hueytown Veterinary Clinic purchased the practice from Dr. Champion’s father, they envisioned a modern, full-service veterinary campus that would elevate care and expand their business. After purchasing the property next door—home to an old church—they initially planned to repurpose elements of the existing structure. However, during construction, the decision was made to remove the church entirely and design a new building from the ground up. The result is a striking, contemporary facility with a large curved drive-through drop-off area and separate entrances for the clinic and boarding/training operations.

Inside the clinic, there are eight exam rooms, a spacious open-concept treatment area, a two-table surgery suite with vaulted ceilings, exposed cedar beams, and dramatic two-story windows overlooking a landscaped view. Additional features include separate cat and dog wards, a large isolation room with a dog run, a two-table dental suite, multiple pharmacy areas—including a dedicated front-desk pickup window—and a fenced walking area for dogs.

The boarding and training wing offers separate dog and cat accommodations, a cat playroom, rehab and training rooms, indoor/outdoor kennel runs, and even luxury cat and dog suites. A nearby retention pond is used for bird dog training, and the facility also includes a dedicated feline oncology suite for radioactive iodine treatments—setting a new standard for specialty care in the region.
